Change

Change… the constant life event. Seasons change, the clocks are about to be set back and once again I find myself having to change my employment status.

I’m thinking; when was it, and where did the healthcare system choose profit over promise? How did we get from midwives and physician home visits to having patients wait hours and days on gurneys in emergency rooms? How did we move from “sickness funds” to the unaffordable, confusing mess that health insurance offers today? Most importantly, how do we shift? I know the question sounds ambiguous. It’s a task as tall as the trees that are in this beautiful view.

I encourage you to consider one thing you can change that mimics how we used to provide patient-centered care.
